“Armenia” air-company has a new pilot-in-command: the pilot has left UAE and came back to his homeland

The pilot with 33-years’ experience came back to Armenia from UAE to take the pilot-in-command’s steering wheel.
Yerevan, 14th of May-“Sputnik”, Laura Sargsyan. Pilot of “Armenia” air-company Eduard Karapetyan had his first flight (Yerevan-Beirut-Yerevan flight) as the pilot-in-command of the Boeing 737.
The pilot with 33-years’ experience has left UAE and returned to his homeland after receiving an offer from the air company “Armenia”.
“I have had 22 thousand 500 hours’ raid. I was born in an aviation family: my father and brother are pilots, mother worked at the airport”- said Karapetyan during his talk to the correspondent of “Sputnik Armenia”.
Karapetyan is the third pilot-in-command in the summer crew of “Armenia”, but the role of the captain is not new to him.
He used to be the pilot-in-command of An-24 of the narrow-body aircraft Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ): in that rank he flew 15 thousand hours.

Retraining of the third commander in “Armenia” is considered to be a huge success for the young company.
“It’s already the third pilot-in-command of the air-company, a pilot with great experience. The air-company has prepared 8 second pilots and three commanders in two years. It’s a big achievement”- said the deputy director of the air-company “Armenia” Gevorg Khachatryan in his talk to the correspondent of “Sputnik Armenia”.
According to him, the air-company is also planning the retraining of two pilots for the position of the second pilot.
“Armenia” is realizing regular flights from Yerevan to Voronej, Mineralnye vody, Tel Aviv, Beirut, also to Lyon since April. Air-park “Armenia” consists of two airplanes: Boeing 737-500, Boeing 737-700. The company involves 53 employees.
